Many pregnant women around the world experience the problem of pregnancy rashes. Pregnancy rashes may cause a lot of irritations and discomforts for the expectant mother. The treatment to be followed here will depend on the type of pregnancy skin rash.

Papular dermatitis of pregnancy is one kind of pregnancy skin rash which is caused due to the imbalance of the hormone levels in the body. Abnormally high gonadotropin levels and low estrogen and cortisol levels can cause this condition.

This condition is manifested by the appearance of extremely itchy red rashes all over the body. High doses of corticosteroids are usually used to deal with this problem. Also blood tests will be performed to evaluate the hormone levels and the medications will be prescribed accordingly. This is a relatively harmless skin condition which will disappear with the birth of the baby.
