Natural childbirth is not for every woman, but  it is one of your options when you give birth to your baby. Some women do not like to use any form of pain control because they fear it will hurt their baby. These women choose to have their children the natural way. If you are one of these women, the below tips should help you.

Breathing

Learning to breath the right way can greatly help you if you are having a natural childbirth. You should learn to breath in a way that completely relaxes every muscle in your body. This will take practice but it will help your body while you are having very bad pains. You can take some classes at your hospital to help you learn the right way to breath during a natural childbirth.

Massage

Massage during childbirth also helps your body to relax much more. This is where your labor coach or husband will come in. Giving a very good back massage is very important, as many women experience great pain in their back during labor. Practice before you start labor so you will know what feels best for you.

A birthing ball can be very helpful during a natural childbirth. You simply sit on the ball and make light bouncing movements. This takes pressure off of your stomach and legs, which helps to decrease the pain that you are having.

Change Positions

There are many different positions that you can take while you are in labor. Many women choose to stand during labor, lay on their side or sit up. You should experiment with different positions to find what makes you feel the best. Most doctors are completely okay with you doing this. Some women find great comfort in sitting in the shower while they are in natural childbirth. The water on their back seems to help decrease the pain.

Stay Hydrated

Labor is very hard work and you need to make sure that you keep your body hydrated by drinking plenty of water. Talk with your doctor about what you can drink. He may prefer that you drink only water, but you also may be able to drink a sport drink. Keeping hydrated will help you keep your energy level up while you go through labor. You will need all of the energy that you can get, as many women are in labor for many hours before they give birth to their baby.

Natural childbirth is a personal choice, and many women go through this each and every day. These tips should  help you feel somewhat better during your labor.
